Matt Ramey is a photographer based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Available for commissions worldwide.
He has contributed to The Washington Post, The Times of London, ProPublica, HuffPost, WUNC, WHYY, The Assembly NC, Garden & Gun and Redux, among other news and editorial clients. He has worked with UNC, NC State, Democracy NC, Roadbook, NC Restaurant and Lodging Association, and NC Institute of Medicine among other brands, organizations and non-profits.
For his personal work, he shoots on film & prints the images by hand in the dark room. He has shown his work in juried shows in North Carolina and New York, including North Carolina Artists Exhibition, Carolina Roots, Cardinal Compass, and FRESH at Artspace.
His work strives, above all else, to be as authentic as possible. He photographs not only what he sees, but how things feel in the moment.
Born and raised in North Carolina, Matt documents the people, places and culture of the South and makes fine art prints from black and white negatives.
